Sheila Macfarlane – May 2, 2011 |
Sheila Macfarlane, mother of Kerry Macfarlane Bell and mother-in-law of the CBWC’s Executive Minister, Jeremy Bell passed away on Monday 2 May.
Sheila was an active and accomplished person with many good friends. She was a student leader, an athlete, and very involved in the community. Above all, she was a loving mother and a supportive wife to her husband of 65 years, Alan. She is survived by her three children, Doug (Penny) Macfarlane, Linda Murphy and Kerry (Jeremy), as well as 6 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and her special niece Patricia Doheny.
A Celebration of Life will be held at McCall Bros. Floral Chapel, Johnson & Vancouver St. in Victoria on Monday, May 9 2011 at 2 pm with a reception to follow in McCall’s Family Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.mccallbros.com
Please keep Kerry, her father Alan, her brother Doug and her sister Linda, as well as their extended family, in your prayers.

Ruth Dryden – March 28, 2011
Ruth Dryden passed into the presence of her Lord on Monday, March 28th, 2011. Ruth spent many years as a medical missionary in her beloved Bolivia. There will be a Celebration of her life on Sunday, April 10th, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church, 49th and Granville, Vancouver, B.C. Please pray for the family and friends she leaves behind.

Iona Matilda Hind, wife of the late Reverend Ian Hind, peacefully slipped from this world into the arms of Jesus, Sunday afternoon, January 9, 2011. Her daughter, Louise, was at her side, having served 24-hour vigil for the eight days prior to her passing.
Iona assisted Ian in many ministries, chronologically they served together in the following Canadian Baptist churches: Cranbrook, Regina (Cameron), Goderich, Brockville, Saskatoon Emmanual, Kelowna FBC, then 4 years with CBM in Kenya, and finally 4 years at Queen St. in St. Catherines. They retired to Penticton, B.C., in 1980.
Iona would have been 93 years old in March.
Iona leaves behind two children, Louise (Glenn Rabuka) of Penticton, and Greg (April) of Surrey, 4 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.
Together, Iona and Ian have left a legacy of service that is truly awesome and inspirational. They are missed by many. The celebration of Iona Hind’s life and ministry is scheduled for Sunday, January 23, 2011 at 2:30 pm at Penticton First Baptist Church. Donations in Iona’s memory may be made to Canadian Baptist Ministries, 7185 Millcreeek Dr. Mississauga, Ont. L5N 5R4.

 December 29, 2010 We mourn the death of Cyril Skinner who passed away to be with his Lord and Saviour on Dec. 29th, 2010. He was the father of Randy Skinner, who was pastor at Olivet Baptist in New Westminster between 2002-2008. Cyril was a long time member of Reidville Baptist Church. He had a dream to build a camp for children and this dream became Camp Tulahead, north of Princeton. He was a founding board member of this camp. There will be a memorial service for Mr. Skinner at Berea Baptist (6062 - 132nd Street in Surrey) on Saturday Jan. 8th at 11:00 and all are welcome to attend. Please remember Cyril’s family in your prayers at this time: wife Mary, sons Randy and Craig and families, daughters Merrillee and Carol. |

It is with deep sadness that we announce that Marti Wilson, the beloved wife of Dr. Jonathan
Wilson who is Pioneer MacDonald Professor of Theology at Carey Theological College, passed
away early September 16th morning at Vancouver General Hospital. Her heart stopped and the
doctors were unable to revive her. This was her 48th day in hospital this time and 78th day this
year. She was brave and delightful to the end.
Marti was born Martha Ethel Crosby on March 16, 1948 in Yarmouth NS.
Her memorial service was held Friday, September 24, 3:00 pm, at West Point Grey Baptist
Church 4509 W. 11th Ave, Vancouver, BC V6R 2M5.
