Royal Oak Community church has decided to close after 86 years of ministry in Burnaby, BC, effective December 31, 2011. Although there is sadness in this decision, there is much to celebrate. The church is inviting all former and current members, adherents and friends of Royal Oak to a Celebration Service on Sunday, January 15 at 6:30 pm.
Please join with the congregation to celebrate the church’s effective ministry and service to its Burnaby community, to praise God for His goodness and faithfulness over the past 86 years, and to pray for a new future congregation. There will be a worship service with a reception following. All are welcome to come and share your stories, recollections and photos. There will be an ‘open mic’ opportunity. If you have photos or something you wish to share, please contact Elders Chair Debra Shelly through the church at
