CBWC NewsThe MAD Challenge is an amazing opportunity for Youth Groups. It is an initiative spearheaded by one of our Youth Pastors (Graeme Watt) in Alberta. The MAD Challenge Website is now live and the competition is open to the world! Visit www.madchallenge.ca to register your team online, create a team profile, submit your funds, share your stories, and learn more about justice issues in the world today. Teams have until the start date of April 14th, 2010 to register. Read more after the link. The MAD Challenge runs for 8 weeks in the spring (April 14th – June 9th 2010). Students form and register a team of 4-6 students to compete against the other teams in the Challenge. The objective of the Challenge is for teams to create a project that addresses an injustice in the world and then raise as much money as possible during the 8 weeks to be contributed to IJM (International Justice Mission) to fight injustice. Each team is paired up with a mentor that helps them along the way and ensures that their project is legal, ethical, etc. The mentor also encourages the team and helps to guide the creative process. Each team must also have a parent or adult who oversees their money and acts as an accountant for the team. |
