Dear folks, Here is our annual letter on our camps and their prayer requests for the summer ahead. Please pray for all that they have requested, especially: enrolment; safety; a sense of initial belonging to campers unfamiliar with camp; a personal beginning of a relationship with Jesus for those who have not met Him; and a deepening of faith that continues. On the camping theme, I have a correction to and apology for last weeks News and Notes. Bob Webber was the Director at Gull Lake, not Keats as I originally wrote. My apologies to Bob. Warmly In Christ, Jeremy
The Quest at Christopher Lake: •· All our campers and staff safety at camp •· Staff and campers spiritual growth throughout the summer •· All our speakers to speak earnestly and truthfully what God has laid on their hearts •· For the senior leadership staff to stay close to God and receive their strength and endurance from Him.
KBK (Katepwa Baptist Kamp): KBK is excited about the Program Team and Support Staff that have been provided this past spring for the upcoming summer. Our theme of "Transformer" is very relevant to where we are at as a camp, and will allow us to clearly speak of the Transformation that takes place when we experience God in our lives. Our prayer is that we may serve well as a staff, and that we may continue to see God work through us to heal our brokenness, and the brokenness of the campers that are drawn into our community this summer. May Christ's love be clearly seen in our actions and words. May we have joy in submitting to the Spirit, and be strengthened by His presence at Camp this summer.
Gull Lake Centre: •· Please pray a prayer of thanksgiving to God for blessing us for the past 90 years. God has been very faithful to us and we are thankful. •· Please pray that we are open in our hearts to seriously follow God and not try to program Him in. •· Please pray for Ben Rogers in his first summer as Program Manager that he would be wise, humble, gentle and encouraged.
Wapiti: •· For our Directing Team - Jeremy Landon, Clint Pigeau, and Connie Roy - to build a great program, great activities, and a great experience for Campers by staying attuned to God's leading. •· For the over 100 volunteers that will help to make our 6 weeks of Residential Camps a success. •· For many of our Campers and guests to hear an undeniable call from God and for courage to respond to that call. •· For a great Team dynamic to be built amongst the leaders and staff. •· For effective follow-up for every camper after their summer experience is finished.
Mill Creek Baptist Camp: •· For Bob Krause and the Board as they prayerfully consider what God is imagining for the next season of camp.
Keats: •· Health and Safety! We prepare using best practises to ensure health and safety of all attending, but there is always the possibility of accidents or sickness. Please be praying that all people at camp will be under the Lord's protection and that we as staff would have our eyes open for anything we can do or improve on that will mitigate the risks. •· Space for the Holy Spirit to work. Please be praying that in all the excitement, busy-ness, fun, new friends etc., that the Holy Spirit will be working in the lives of each person at the camp, convicting us all, campers and staff alike, of truth and the grace and forgiveness offered us by Christ Jesus. •· That we will be open to God's leading in all things •· That the Lord will provide all of our needs, and that He will sustain us and grant us great peace during a stretching and growing time. •· That Jesus will reign and will reveal himself in great and mighty ways
Sylvan Acres: Under the excellent guidance of the Sylvan Board, with Rob Filgate as chair a new director (Calley Erickson) has been appointed. Calley and Carrie have led several areas in our family of churches, including, over the last few years, Mill Creek.
