![]() CBWC AnnouncementJeremy Bell, Executive Minister of Canadian Baptists of Western Canada, is pleased to announce the appointment of Bob Webber as Director of Ministry, effective June 1, 2010. As Director of Ministry, Bob will coordinate more than 50 ministry networks, denominational committees, camp boards and board committees of the CBWC on behalf of the Executive Minister. “In the history of the denomination, we have always had a senior level individual coordinating our ministries and complementing the work of the Executive Minister and Chief Financial Officer,” said Jeremy Bell, Executive Minister. “In the past we experienced the gifted leadership of Howard Bentall and Bill Mains in these areas and so we look forward to Bob taking on this new role.” Bob can be reached at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it , at the Calgary head office 1.800.820.2479 or on his cell phone 403.575.1519 To read more about this announcement, click the link to read more. Bob will coordinate the ministry networks and committees on behalf of the Executive Minister and will be the liaison person with each of these unless another staff person has already been assigned. He will also represent the Executive Minister when Jeremy cannot be present at meetings. Bob will participate in the CBWC’s strategic planning and will also create metrics and analytical tools for regular audits of ministry effectiveness. He will be part of the Executive Staff. “Bob has grown up and thrived in this family of churches. All his life, he has worshipped, served and cared for us as a church family. It is God’s timing and very exciting that he should be willing to serve in this capacity at this time,” said Jeremy. “As one of his former pastors told me, “We will look back at this day with deep gratitude for this choice.” I disagree with the tense of that sentence: I have deep gratitude now.” “I am very excited to get started because there are so many excellent ministries going on. There is so much we can do to strengthen our ministry partners,” Bob said. “I’m a bit daunted because I’m aware of the fine pastoral work of the people who had this job before me. I have big shoes to fill.” Bob will work out of the Calgary office/home office a couple days a week and out of his home office in Brownfield the rest of the time. This 2-year term position will be funded through efficiencies in the CBWC’s existing budget. Bob, a lifelong member of the CBWC, is already well-connected to many Canadian Baptist partners and ministries and will bring his experience as a communications consultant, ministry board member and former camp director to his new tasks. |
