![]() CBWC NewsYou are invited to meet artist Rose-Marie Goodwin as she launches an art show Small Ritual Coffee Society in White Rock Saturday, July 10th, 7-10 pm. Everyone is invited to Small Ritual Coffee Society on July 10, 7:30 – 10 pm for a summer evening Art Show and talk given by Rose-Marie Goodwin, a well-known painter who belongs to the Canadian Baptist family. Rose-Marie’s paintings in acrylic on canvas are on display at Small Ritual July 5 to August 7. Many of her paintings have won awards at juried shows; most recently her painting Come to the Garden won first prize in the Federation of Canadian Artists’ Canvas Unbound exhibition. In her professional life, Rose-Marie has been the VP of Planned Giving for the CBWC Foundation for many years. She will be joined by her daughter, singer-songwriter Kathi Reid Johnsen and friends, who will be providing musical entertainment. Small Ritual Coffee Society, at 1237 Johnston Road in White Rock is a community outreach ministry of The Church at Southpoint. The ministry provides ethically sourced, locally roasted coffee in a welcoming, non-profit coffee shop that exists as a ‘third place’ – a community hub that is neither home nor work – where people can connect with each other on a deeper level. The coffee shop also provides a venue for visual and performing arts and often screens films that challenge us to think about global issues. It is open 7 days a week, Monday to Friday 8 am – 7 pm, Saturday 9 am – 10 pm and Sunday noon to 6 pm. All gratuities for refreshments will go to local White Rock charities, the normal practice of this non-profit coffee house. For a preview of Rose-Marie’s work, go to www.rose-marie-paintings.com.
